What happens in the brain when we listen to music? Can dance and art improve our well-being?
Klingande Akademi – an evening where science and art come together in a unique and captivating experience.
Professor Emeritus Gunnar Bjursell, one of Sweden’s leading researchers in cultural medicine, takes us on a journey through the human brain, explaining how music, dance, and art influence our health, creativity, and learning. With his groundbreaking research, Bjursell highlights how cultural engagement not only enriches our lives but also contributes to improved well-being and brain health.
The evening is framed by live music from the acclaimed Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, performing works by both Swedish and international composers, along with compelling dance by the internationally recognized choreographer and dancer Efva Lilja. Together, they create a holistic experience that moves and inspires new thoughts about the connection between science, culture, and human well-being.
Klingande Akademi is not just a lecture or a concert—it is an audiovisual journey, where rhythm, movement, and sound interact with cutting-edge research to deepen our understanding of the role of culture in our lives.
